Growers to receive $12.84 per tonne as 4th payment for 2025 crop

Sugarcane growers will receive a fourth cane payment of $12.84 per tonne on May 19, following a Government top-up to boost the final payout.

The Sugar Industry Tribunal has announced that the Fiji Sugar Corporation would pay $6.07 per tonne for the fourth cane payment, while Government would top it up by an additional $6.77 per tonne.

In a statement, the Tribunal said the combined payment would bring the total fourth cane payment to growers to $12.84 per tonne.

The Sugar Industry Tribunal certified that the net share of sugarcane growers’ cane proceeds received as at April 30, 2026 stood at $94.54 million, equivalent to $64.04 per tonne of cane.

According to the Tribunal, FSC has so far paid farmers a total of $57.97 per tonne, comprising the delivery payment, second cane payment and third cane payment.

Growers will receive the fourth cane payment tomorrow.
