Tina Tui says she decided to venture into music after being inspired by her late grandfather.

The 22-year-old university student is one of 10 finalists in the 2023 Domo Vou Talei original song contest.

Her Indie-pop song Bruised is sure to connect with those who have been in love and know the roller coaster ride of emotions that go with it.

She is one of the 10 finalists of the Domo Vou Talei (DVT) Competition.

Tui’s all time favourite artist is Billie Eilish and anything by Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy.

But she also loves listening to local reggae-rock artist, Knox.

Tui and her fellow finalists are vying for $9000 in prizes up for grabs – the $5000 grand prize courtesy of Westpac, $3000 People’s Choice Award courtesy of The Fiji Times and $1000 Best Performance Award courtesy of Kaila!

The finalists are being recorded by legendary producer Phil Dakei, having their music videos shot by Dave “Mr Grin” Lavaki of FirstFighter and being prepared for their October 7 grand final performance at the Woodstock Uprising Music Festival by award-winning artists Sunia Soko Loga.
