Many had tried, and all had failed, but on the August 12, 2017, six rugby teams from Ratu Kadavulevu School in Lodoni, Tailevu, representing each of the six age grades, ascended on Laucala Bay and prevailed in their respective finals, to accomplish the first grand slam of secondary schools rugby in Fiji.
Truly, this is a rare feat, one that I bet will not be repeated for many years to come.
It is a fitting tribute to a great Alma Mater where rugby is devotion, just as the towering hills of Delainakaikai, on the foot of which the school lies, has been her moniker for many years.
