SUVA Grammar School’s under-17 side will carry more than preparation into its Vodafone Super Deans semi-final against Queen Victoria School (QVS), with team manager Ana Leano saying the side is holding firmly to its belief in the players and the journey that has brought them this far.

Leano said the team has confidence in the resources available to it and will continue to rely on that belief as the players prepare for the challenge ahead.
“We believe in the resources that we have. That’s it. We are hanging on to our faith in what we believe that with God all things are possible,” Leano said.
She said that belief has remained central to Grammar’s campaign and has helped the team reach the semi-final stage.
“Yeah, that’s it. We’ve come this far with that in our heart,” she said. The semi-final presents Grammar with an opportunity to turn that belief into a place in the national final.
Facing QVS will require discipline, composure and a strong collective effort, with both sides now just one match away from the championship decider.
For Grammar, the emphasis will be on trusting the preparation already completed and making the most of the opportunity in front of them.
Leano’s message reflects the confidence within the Grammar camp as the players prepare for one of their biggest tests of the season.
At this stage of the competition, there is little room for error, and Grammar will need to remain focused throughout the match.
QVS has also enjoyed a strong campaign across the lower grades, with the school sending four teams into the semi-finals.
However, Grammar will be focused on its own task and the opportunity to secure a place in the national final. With the biggest test of their campaign ahead, Grammar will look to its preparation, its players and the belief that has carried the team this far when they take the field at HFC Bank Stadium on Saturday.
