Grammar dominates Southern Zone semi-finals

SUVA Grammar School is keeping its Deans nationals qualification hopes alive after winning their semi-final fixtures in the Vodafone Deans Southern Zone Secondary Schools competition yesterday.

Under-18 Zone semi-finals

The Flagstaff gladiators of Marist Brothers High School were beaten 17-22 by Nasinu Secondary School following a second-half where the victors fought for a win after trailing Marist 5-9 at half-time. The hosts fought a determined RSMS to win 24-15 in their clash yesterday, marked by shifting dominance between both teams. They will face Nasinu Secondary in the southern zone’s under-18 final next week.

Under-17 zone semi-finals

Naitasiri Secondary School suffered a 7-34 thrashing from the hosts Suva Grammar while Gospel High School won 15-10 over Marist Brothers High School.

Under-16 zone semi-finals

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School won 18-11 over Grammar in their clash while Nasinu Secondary beat Marist Brothers High School 16-15. MGM and Nasinu meet next Saturday.

Under-15 zone semi-finals

Grammar fought to the end to tower 20-17 over Nasinu Secondary School in their semi-final clash while its neighbour Marist won 16-7 over Gospel.

Raluve semi-finals

In the under-16 grade, Suva Grammar won 15-7 over Lomaivuna High School while Nasinu Secondary beat Dudley High School 24-12.

In the under-18 grade, MGM won 19-0 over Nasinu and Lomary Secondary School won 20-7 over Ratu Latianara College.
