THREE of the six South Korean nationals working for the Grace Road Group have been released.
This was confirmed by Solicitor General Ropate Green Lomavatu while appearing at the Lautoka High Court this morning where Grace Road president Jung “Daniel” Kim made and application questioning the legality of his detainment by Government.
Appearing before Justice Lyone Seneviratne, Mr Lomavatu informed the Court that Sung Jin Lee, Nam Suk Choi and Jin Sook Yoon have been released.
He said the only matter that was before the Court was against Grace Road president Jung “Daniel” Kim which they insisted should be treated with urgency.
Defence lawyer King’s Counsel from the Victoria Bar in Melbourne, Simon Ower confirmed the trio has been released from detainment.
However, Mr Ower said a notice for their removal was still pending which they would be asking the Court to be withdrawn.
Mr Ower said that two of the accused, Beomseop Shin and Byeongjoon Lee have been removed to the Republic of South Korea.
The case has been adjourned to September 29 for hearing, however, Kim will be reappearing at midday. Watch this space for further developments on the outcome of his application.
