The Ministry of Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics is seeking applications for the position of Government Statistician to lead the Fiji Bureau of Statistics (FBoS).
According to the vacancy advertisement, the successful candidate will oversee the production and publication of Fiji’s official economic, social, household, population census and housing statistics, while providing strategic leadership to the Bureau.
The role includes leading the Bureau’s strategic direction, strengthening national statistical systems, promoting the use of official statistics in policy and decision-making, and representing Fiji in regional and international statistical forums.
Applicants are required to have at least 15 years of relevant experience, including five years in a leadership role, with demonstrated expertise in producing high-quality statistical products and providing strategic advice to senior management.
The successful candidate will also be expected to drive innovation, build partnerships with government agencies and stakeholders, and ensure the Bureau continues to deliver reliable, timely and relevant national statistics.
