The Fiji Government has revised its Facebook announcement on the appointment of Sevuloni Valenitabua, identifying him as Attorney-General after initially announcing his appointment as Acting Attorney-General.

The earlier announcement stated that Mr Valenitabua had been sworn in as Acting Attorney-General by President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu at the State House yesteray.

However, a subsequent announcement on the Fiji Government’s Facebook page described Mr Valenitabua as having been sworn in as Attorney-General, removing the word “Acting” from his title.

The revised statement did not explain the change in designation.

The Attorney-General serves as the Government’s principal legal adviser and chief law officer.
