The Prime Minister has appointed the Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga, to act as Attorney – General.
A government statement said the acting appointment will be in effect until a substantive Attorney General is appointed.
Mr Turaga was removed as Attorney General in June last year.
The AGs position became vacant after the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka dismissed Graham Leung five days ago.
