Good employer-employee relations important – Singh

Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Minister Agni Deo Singh highlighted the importance of good employer-employee relations while speaking at a talanoa session with the Lautoka Chamber of Commerce last week.

He addressed issues like employment creation, labour laws, labour mobility, and sustainable employment environments.

Mr Singh said the Government was committed to listening to the needs and concerns of its citizens and was dedicated to creating sustainable employment opportunities for all Fijians.

He also highlighted the importance of good employer-employee relationships and announced that the government would be offering incentives to encourage good relations.

Additionally, he announced the establishment of a committee to review the Employment Relations Act, with the possibility of amending labour laws in the future.

“Reach out to the Government if they have any issues or concerns related to employment and productivity,” he said. ”

Only through communication and collaboration can Fiji continue to make progress towards a brighter future for all its citizens.”

Mr Singh said Government was planning to open technical colleges to provide training for Fijians so they could be trained and skilled in a range of industries.
