Goalkeeper Tamanisau back for Fiji against Estonia

SIMIONE Tamanisau has been selected by the coach Christophe Gamel to be part of the Vodafone Fiji team which plays Estonia in a friendly match at the ANZ Stadium in Suva today.

Tamanisau has replaced Tevita Koroi who was ruled out because of injury. Gamel has named a strong team for Estonia with the new players Altaaf Sahib and Epeli Loaniceva.

“We will be facing a big opponent as Estonia is very good team,” he said.

“It will be a big exposure for Fiji to play Estonia no matter what happens in the match.

Gamel said he was working towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup and playing teams such as Estonia would help them in their preparation.

“We have to continue to apply our vision and the important thing is for the players to play at that level,” he added.

“I hope the people would come and support the team and the fans need to be aware of the gap between Fiji and the East Europe and the people would play a key role being the 12th player for Fiji by supporting the boys.

“I am positive Fiji will show modern football to the fans.”
