Nalini Devi has a strong passion for travelling the world.
She also treats her work with devotion because it directly assists local communities.
As a team member of the Pacific Women Lead at the Pacific Community (PWL at SPC) program, she plays a pivotal role in helping communities around the Pacific region.
Nalini is a finance and administrative assistant for the PWL at the SPC’s Human Rights and Social Development division.
With more than eight years of experience in program, finance and administration, she joined PWL late last year and provides support to the team on finance, procurement, travel and administration, working closely with the division’s finance helpdesk.
Nalini holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management and previously worked for the Australian Government’s supported program, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO).
Nalini says she has a sense of accomplishment working at PWL because it allows her to contribute to achieving gender equality in families, communities and the region.
“The thing that drives me to work is a sense of fulfilment in the work I do,” she said.
She says God is her driving force as she does her work with integrity and passion. Nalini’s love of travel and experiencing different places, people, foods and adventures prompted her recent Christmas holiday trip to New Zealand, where she particularly enjoyed the cuisine.
She says her love for travel was influenced by the many documentaries she watched growing up as a child, which were usually based on different countries of the world and the various foods each country had.
Health is also a priority for Nalini as her New Year’s resolution for 2025 is to live healthier.
“This year, I started training for my work-life balance; I have a training bicycle at home but decided to go the gym with a friend so I will feel motivated to push myself further.”
