THE death of Queen Elizabeth II symbolises the end of an era, says Social Democratic Liberal Party leader Viliame Gavoka.

In offering the party’s condolences he said she endured many challenges during her reign, leading with grace, always resolute and fervent.

Mr Gavoka said the disaffiliation from the monarch in 1987 which changed Fiji’s status from dominion to republic – was unpopular to many in the country who continued to regard Her Majesty as Queen of Fiji.
