THE Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union is disappointed that some team managers tend not to follow simple instructions during the Coke Zero Deans trophy competition.
Under FSSRU regulations only teachers or students are allowed to be water carriers during any match.
Colati said they were disappointed that some schools had brought in the services of former scholars to be standing on the sideline and carting water to the players on the field.
Colati said team managers were carefully briefed that all team officials would need to be declared.
“Now after briefing them we had an understanding that they (the team managers) will adhere to it, yet no, they have to bring other people without declaring them. It is rather unfortunate that through the assistance we had to pull a water carrier out of the field at half time, after one of the officials identified him as not a teacher but a former student.
“We are also aware of two other cases where the water carriers are not teachers neither students.”
He said this week they would ensure procedures and regulations are strictly followed.
“We don’t want to escort people out but we will do this if the managers do not declare their team officials.
“So this week we will be in talks with the managers to ensure that this is strictly followed.”
The semi-finals will be at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
