THE Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development (FRIEND) Fiji marked its 25th anniversary on August 29 with a celebration at its Tuvu, Lautoka, headquarters.
Officiated by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, the celebration marked a culmination of community work and rural economic opportunities that have impacted Fijians across the country.
Congratulating the Foundation, Mr Rabuka highlighted the importance of lasting national progress built on strong partnerships.
“By bringing together the strength of Government, the strength of communities, the strength of civil society, the strength of the private sector and development partners, we can address complex challenges and deliver outcomes that benefit both present and future generations,” he said.
FRIEND Fiji began its work in December 2001 and was founded by Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran.
