Remuneration for the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service’s (FRCS) key management personnel increased by more than $230,000 during the 2024-2025 financial year, according to the agency’s annual report tabled in Parliament on Friday.
The report shows that salary and other benefits paid to key management personnel rose from $1,349,398 in the year ended 31 July 2024 to $1,581,062 for the year ended 31 July 2025—an increase of $231,664, or about 17 per cent.
Directors’ remuneration also increased significantly, rising from $71,499 in 2023-2024 to $146,301 in 2024-2025.
The annual report defines key management personnel as those with the authority and responsibility for planning, directing and controlling the activities of the organisation, whether directly or indirectly.
During the reporting period, the FRCS key management team comprised Chief Executive Officer Udit Singh, Director Corporate Services and Chief of Staff Shavindra Nath, Director Compliance Kelerayani Dawai, Director People, Capability and Culture Uraia Rasake, Director Border Forces Shelini Devi, Director Tax Momina Beg, Chief Financial Officer Ansu Singh, Chief Information Officer Nalin Ranawalage, and Deputy Director Governance and Risk Ilaisa Lakepa.
The report notes that directors’ remuneration includes amounts paid to FRCS directors, with remuneration for Chairman Shiri Gounder paid directly by the Ministry of Finance. It also states that remuneration for Malakai Naiyaga, Neelesh Gounder, Nitin Gandhi, Jitoko Tikolevu and Umesh Prasad was paid directly to those directors.
The remuneration figures are contained in the 2024-2025 FRCS Annual Report, which was tabled in Parliament on Friday.
