Four students from Penang Sangam Primary School in Rakiraki will be travelling to Japan this week to participate in the 2024 Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention (APCC).

It’s an annual event held in Japan that brings together children from across the Asia-Pacific region to engage in cross-cultural exchange, learn about global issues, and develop leadership skills.

“The APCC emphasises the importance of international cooperation and mutual understanding among young people,” said head of school Richard Kumar.

“By fostering these connections, the convention aims to empower the next generation of global citizens and inspire them to become agents of positive change in their communities.”

Last week they presented a i-tatau to the Assistant Minister for Education, Iliesa Vanawalu in Suva.
