Four Fijian returning workers departed our shores for the Land Down Under on December 1 to resume their occupation under the Australia Pacific Labour Scheme.
The initial trip of those returning workers was cut short because of the COVID-19 outbreak last year.
According to the Government, those workers were returning to their same PLS employer, InterContinental Hotel, and they will be re-engaged in their previous positions as chefs and food and beverage attendants.
The workers will be based at Mulpha on Hayman Island with a contractual agreement for a duration of three years, the Government stated.
Ministry of Employment, Productivity & Industrial Relations permanent secretary Osea Cawaru said the ministry was working on the upcoming demands under the PLS for the next three months.
“I would like to request all clients registered under the PLS or on any other Labour Mobility Programme under the National Employment Centre (NEC) to contact the NEC Suva Office through phone: (679) 8925 090 / 8925 087 / 8925 085; email: FORES@govnet.gov.fj and to update their contact details if there are any changes to their current particulars,” Mr Cawaru said in the statement.
