An early morning house fire in Baulevu has claimed the lives of three adults and a three-year-old child, according to a statement from Fiji Police.
Police said a report of the fire was received shortly after midnight, prompting officers and National Fire Authority personnel to respond to the scene.
The four victims were found trapped inside the house.
Another family member sustained serious burns and is currently admitted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Authorities say the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, with joint investigations underway between Police and the National Fire Authority.
