THE Fiji National University campus in Labasa is expected to open in February next year.

FNU’s Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel Healey said the campus is expected to cater for 1200 students when it first opens.

But over the years to come, the campus would cater for 3000 students as more programs are offered.

“We hope to open the complex in the first semester as construction works are scheduled to be completed by end of 2019,” he said.

“The first major phase and civil works were quite extensive and we had to raise the foundation to 2.5m in order to be above the flood level.”

Prof Healey met with stakeholders this morning including Prime Minister’s office permanent secretary Yogesh Karan
