The good and bad of being a pensioner with FNPF were widely discussed by members at a forum held in Labasa yesterday.

While some asked the advantages and disadvantages of being a pensioner and whether should become one when they retired,  others testified to the goodness of it.

Pensioner Unaisi Lekenaua told the forum that her monthly FNPF pension had greatly assisted her family.

“I have seen some of those who retired with me and withdrew all their pension now selling in the market in search of financial support,” Ms Lekenaua said.

“So please become a pensioner because we get a monthly pension until our death.”

Another member asked the FNPF management team to give them good reasons for becoming a pensioner.

FNPF chief executive officer Viliame Vodonaivalu assured pensioners that their welfare with the FNPF was well looked after.
