BEACHCOMBER heard this from a friend.
A group of friends were sitting one afternoon and comparing their sandals, she said.
One of them shouted that his was the strongest because they were “Cebo” brand sandals while another one said he had handmade leather sandals brought all the way from Israel.
While everyone was busy comparing and trying on each other’s shoes to check if it was indeed strong enough, out of the blue, one friend appeared, to only shout out to them that his was the strongest because it was made from a tyre.
Everyone burst out laughing only to find that his second shoe sole was indeed from an unused tyre.
Talk about some of our very own local recycling methods.
Sa yawa!
