ANZ’S focus is improving financial wellbeing in the community which means driving a savings culture in Fiji, says the bank’s country head Rabih Yazbek.
Mr Yazbek said with careful budgeting, planning and through practical life skills that MoneyMinded offered, people, their families and communities could thrive.
The bank recently held its flagship financial education program for more than 1000 women at the at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church 2023 Women’s Congress.
Women and Children’s Ministries, Fiji Mission for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church director Alice Kaisuva said: “The ANZ financial literacy sessions at the Koro Island Women’s Congress were resoundingly successful.
“The feedback received underscores the importance of continued investment in financial education for women in Fiji.
“This initiative has not only empowered individuals but also has the potential to create a ripple effect of financial literacy across communities.”
In a media release Mr Yazbek said “Many of the women at the Seventh Day Adventist Church 2023 Women’s Congress attended multiple MoneyMinded sessions throughout the event, because they found it so beneficial.
“These were school teachers, women who work in the private sector and had taken leave to attend the Congress, and retirees,” Mr Yazbek said.
According to the bank more than 20,000 people in Fiji have taken part in MoneyMinded training since 2010.
