Parents of secondary school students in Ba will be to save money on purchasing disposable face coverings each day after Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar handed over masks and hand sanitizers to all the students within the district of Ba yesterday.
Thousands of face masks were delivered by Ms Akbar to Ba Sangam College as part of the government’s COVID-19 school re-entry plan.
She said it was critically important for secondary school students to wear face masks to seek protection from a killer virus among other mandatory health and safety measures in place to suppress the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
“The use of a fabric mask in such settings is recommended to protect each other,” Ms Akbar said.
“We all need to continue practising physical distancing and washing our hands frequently also so that we can beat COVID-19.
“A face mask should be worn in all public settings where it is difficult to keep a physical distance from others and always when in indoor public spaces.”
A total of 3000 fabric masks, 20 cartons of hand sanitisers, and 20 cartons of water purifiers were handed over to the school’s principal, Jagat Ram.
