COMMISISONER of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said Fiji’s inclusion as a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) will also focus on enhancing Pacific law enforcement’s capabilities for the benefit of the region.

Speaking to the president of the IACP, Chief Paul Cell, during their meeting today, he said this was in line with the Fijian Government’s policy of friends to all and enemies to none.

“Through our Foreign Affairs ministry, when we are given the opportunity to be a member of any international policing associations, we don’t speak for Fiji alone but for the region because of the challenges of policing in the Pacific region,” Brig-Gen Qiliho said.

“We strive to voice our collective concerns and it’s great to hear that the IACP will also be working closely with the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police at the margins of the upcoming conference in Samoa,” he said.
