Dominance on the scoreboard did not fully satisfy Vodafone Fijiana interim coach Mike Legge, despite his side’s resounding 83-5 victory over Tonga Women’s XV in their opening Oceania Women’s Rugby Championship clash.

The home side delivered an explosive performance at Churchill Park, showcasing attacking flair and depth, particularly through their new players who made an immediate impact.

However, Legge was quick to point out lapses in structure during the closing stages, signalling areas that require tightening as the competition progresses.

While the emphatic win sets a strong foundation, the focus now shifts to consistency and execution.

With a challenging encounter against Samoa XV looming, Fijiana will be eager to refine their performance and maintain momentum in their championship campaign.
