Fijiana XV drop spots | Loss to Samoa impacts Rauluni’s angel’s rankings

The Fijiana XV side, coached by Mosese Rauluni, dropped two spots in the World Rugby women’s rankings after a 17-45 defeat to Samoa over the weekend.

The match played at the Sevens Stadium in the United Arab Emirates, had significant implications for both teams’ standings.

Samoa’s win saw them leapfrog Fiji in the ranking, rising to 15th, while the Fijiana XV fell to 16th.

Before the match, the Fijiana started the weekend three places ahead of Samoa and with a 2.92-point lead.

The result shifted the rankings, putting Samoa as the higher-ranked of the two teams after gaining two places.

Fiji will now face Spain this Sunday at 4.30am (Fiji time) in their next match. |
