FORMER Fijiana 7s flyer Adi Vani Buleki will come up against her fellow countrywomen after being named on the Western Force bench for today’s clash against the Fijian Drua at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Buleki, who recently returned to the force following another stint with the Fijiana programme, brings valuable international experience and attacking flair to the Australian side.
Known for her speed, footwork and ability to break defensive lines, she has previously represented Fiji on the HSBS World Sevens Series circuit, where she established herself as a dangerous outside back in open space.
The former Fiji 7s representative has also been part of the Fijiana high-performance pathway, where she developed her versatility across both sevens and fifteens formats.
Her exposure to international rugby has strengthened her decision-making under pressure and enhanced ability to adapt quickly in high-intensity matches.
On the other side, the Fijian Drua Women will be looking to defend home turf with a strong squad built around key Fijiana internationals who have featured in recent international campaigns.
Players such as captain Bitila Tawake and experienced playmakers in the backline will be central to the Drua’s attacking structure, while the forward pack will aim to assert dominance through set-piece and physical carry work.
With both sides featuring Fijian talent, the match carries added significance, highlighting depth of women’s rugby development in Fiji as players continue to make their mark both locally and abroad.
Western Force will look to use Buleki’s speed and impact off the bench, while the Drua aim to capitalize on home advantage and strong cohesion built through their national programme.
Kick-off at Churchill Park in Lautoka is expected to draw fanatical support as fans witness a contest featuring Fijian players on both sides of the field.
