Some members of the Fijiana rugby squad were involved in a car accident on Sunday.
The accident involving two vehicles occurred at the Bulu Bridge in Malevu, Nadroga around 2pm.
The Fiji Police Force confirmed the accident involved players from the Fijiana rugby team.
Pictures from witnesses present at the scene showed a distressed player who was a former Fijiana captain seated near their severely damaged car while two others were standing.
Police say their traffic investigators are still gathering statements to establish the cause of the accident.
This comes amid the Fiji Rugby Union’s call for road safety on their social media platforms.
