Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s skipper Raijieli Daveua says their approach to their restarts will need to be lifted ahead of the Madrid 7s.

The side finished fourth at the Singapore 7s on the weekend after losing to France 29-7 in the third-place playoff.

Daveua said restarts had been one of the areas the side worked on over the past few weeks before the Singapore 7s.

While the loss was a bitter one for the side, Daveua said they had learned a lot of lessons from the match and will be working on their weaknesses before heading into the Madrid 7s.

“The restart and our defence are two of the main areas that we will be working on in the coming weeks,” she said.

Daveua said she felt that she had let the team down after receiving a yellow card, leaving the side one man down for two minutes.

“I feel like I had let them down for those two minutes and I will need to work on that. I believe that I was able to make up for that when I came back.”

Despite the loss, she thanked her side for their effort and hard work during the tournament, and promised fans they would return stronger in Madrid.

“The girls really worked hard to get to the semis, and I am happy with what they have been able to achieve so far.”

Meanwhile, the men’s team finished ninth.
