The Vodafone Fijiana 15s side will face the Japanese national women’s side in two back-to-back test matches next month in Fiji.
This was announced by Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) in a media conference in Nadi yesterday.
“We have two test matches against Japan women’s team next month,” Fiji Rugby High-Performance women’s manager Alana Thomas said.
He said in 2024, the side is set to play a record number of tests in a year, with 10 matches scheduled.
“Really exciting to have two home matches here in Fiji against the Japanese and we anticipate a similar atmosphere to the Fijian Drua Women and Western Force Women in the Super W semi-final match in Suva last month,” she said.
The Fijiana 15s captain Karalaini Naisewa said the two test matches would help them to prepare better for the Oceania Rugby Women’s championship.
According to FRU, the Fijiana 15s will play the Japan national women’s team on June 14 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva at 6pm and a week later on June 20, will face them again at Churchill Park in Lautoka also at 6pm.
Ticket prices for these matches are set at $15 for grandstand seating and $5 for grass seating, with children U12 enjoying free admission.
