Fijian soldiers in Golan Heights get a visit from Defence Minister

Minister for Defence and Veteran Affairs, Pio Tikoduadua has visited the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) at Camp Ziouani in the Golan Heights.

He was accompanied by the Commander Joint Task Force Command, Brigadier General Manoa Gadai.

The 1st Fiji Infantry Regiment (1FIR) and the Fiji Batt 11 are serving in the Golan Heights.

While there, Mr Tikoduadua met the UNDOF Acting Head of Mission and Chief Misssion Support, Amedeo Micelli.

A statement from the Joint Task Force Command, Blackrock Camp said discussions focused on strengthening Fiji’s logistical and operational.

This included discussing the shipment of seven Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicles from Blackrock Camp in Fiji to Camp Ziouani.

Mr Tikoduadua and Brigadier General Gadai also joined the UNDOF Easter Resurrection Sunday Church Service at Camp Ziouani.
