FIJI’S Minister for Defence and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola is attending a premier Asian regional security summit in Singapore.
Accompanied by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto and officials from the Ministry of Defence, Ratu Kubuabola is leading the Fijian delegation at the dialogue which is scheduled from June 1 to 3.
The summit is a platform for holding bilateral talks amongst developed and developing countries.
The Asia Security Summit as its commonly known is an annual event hosted by Singapore where Defence Ministers, chiefs of army, navy and air force including Defence officials attend to discuss pertinent security challenges confronting developing States in particular certain global hotspots.
According to his Twitter account, Ratu Kubuabola had a “good bilateral meeting” with Indonesian Defence Minister General (Ret’d) Ryamizard Ryacudu at margins of 17th Asia Security Summit in Singapore.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest.
The delegation returns to Fiji on Monday June 4, 2018.
