Fijian charged in NZ

A Fiji national has been charged by New Zealand Police for the alleged importation of drugs into that country.

The man was living in Fiji and charges were laid once he arrived in New Zealand last week.

“Police can confirm a 46-year-old Fijian national is before the Auckland District Court on charges relating to the importation of pseudoephedrine,” a NZ Police spokesperson told this newspaper.

“The man is next expected in court on 27 April, 2023.

“As matters remain before the court, police cannot comment further at this time.” The suspect is a businessman and an executive of a sporting organisation in Fiji.
