Fiji defeated second placed South Africa in the Cup quarter-final to become clear winners.
Tries to Savenaca Rawaca and Osea Kolinisau gave Fiji a 12-0 lead at half time.
South Africa bounced back early in the second half to put the scores at 12-7.
But a try to Rawaca, which was converted, gave Fiji a 19-7 win and the side’s first win of the world sevens series title in 10 years.
Fiji team coach Ben Ryan told the players at half time that they were only seven minutes away from something special.
