The Fiji Airways men’s 7s team will be aiming for back-to-back wins on a leg of the World SVNS Series for the first time when it plays at the Cape Town tournament which starts tomorrow.

While Fiji has won numerous tournaments on the series, back-to-back wins on the same leg has been something the team has not been able to achieve.

In the new format for the tournament in Cape Town, there will be no quarter-finals, with pool winners automatically qualifying for the semi-finals.

This gives Fiji a good chance to secure their first back-to-back titles.

Fiji will be competing in Pool A against Uruguay and Great Britain.

Fiji’s first match will be against Uruguay on Sunday at 12.38am, followed by a match against Great Britain at 4.38am.

The men’s cup semi-finals begin at 11.56pm on Sunday, with the final taking place at 5.11am on Monday.

Fiji last won the Cape Town title in 2018.
