Family and friends have expresses shock at the death of Fiji Taxi Association General Secretary, Ashween Lal.
He passed away yesterday afternoon at his house in Rakiraki.
Mr Lal was elected to the post in August 2018.
“Isa Ashween, do sad indeed. A sad day for Rakiraki town and our taxi industry,” stated Assistant Minister for Justice, Ratu Josaia Niudamu on social media.
Mr Lal has been a known vocal advocate of rights for taxi operators in Fiji.
His funeral details will be announced later.
