Netball Fiji CEO Vivan Koster says she is happy with the Pearls’ performance at the Netball World Cup in South Africa, stating that they won two key matches and managed to finish the championship three places better than their last outing.

Responding to questions from Times Sport, she said the Pearls went into the tournament as the second lowest ranked team, but they managed to beat 11th placed Trinidad and Tobago and 13th placed Zimbawbe.

“We went into the tournament as the second lowest ranked team at 19th and we competed against teams ranked higher,” she said.

“Furthermore, at the last World Cup, we finished 14th – so we have improved by three places in 2023.”

Koster says Netball Fiji will go back to the drawing board and work on areas that needed improving ahead of future competitions.

She says through the national academy, Netball Fiji will continue to build its player base and the administrators will continue to scout for young talents around the country.
