The recent detection of COVID-19 cases in New Zealand will have a bearing on procedures and protocols needed to establish a travel bubble between Fiji and New Zealand, says Trade Minister Faiyaz Koya.
Mr Koya said the possibility of having such a travel bubble was an ongoing negotiation.
He said whether the recent detection of cases in New Zealand affected the possibility of such a bubble was subject to discussions.
“Of course it will have a bearing on the protocols needed to establish such a bubble, but again, these are being discussed,” he said.
“Nothing is stable as we have seen with the effects COVID-19 pandemic around the world so it is too early for us to release any statement in these regards.”
