FORMER State lawyers Timoci Qalinauci and Lisiate Fotofili were sworn in as resident magistrates by President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote at the State House in Suva today.
Mr Qalinauci holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Law from the University of the South Pacific.
He was admitted into the bar in 2008 as a Barrister and Solicitor for the High Court of Fiji, and was the Senior Legal Officer for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions since 2013.
Mr Fotofili graduated with a Post Graduate Certificate in Corruption Studies from the University of Hong Kong, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Law both from The University of the South Pacific.
He has worked as a prosecutor for 12 years with appointed posts as legal officer to manager for the Serious Crimes Division in the ODPP in Suva in 2015.
Chief Justice Anthony Gates and Chief Registrar Yohan Liyanage were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
