Spartan Fiji/New Zealand/ Australia managing director Robert Camilleri says they have had very good results in the 2024 Fiji Spartan APAC Championship held at the Aviva Racecourse in Nadi yesterday.
He said the Race Day started early in the morning with 5Okm Ultra Start, followed by the 21km Beast APAC Championships.
“Following from the Ultra Race, we started our Championship series, where we had very strong results,” he said.
Camilleri added that they witnessed some very fast times in the Championship.
“We got a lot of opens on course, that is progressively continuing this morning and the last waves will be around 11am, so most people are on course as we speak and they would start to come through this afternoon to finish the day off.
“Tomorrow (today) is the big day, we got the 10km and the 5km race, so we have a lot more people attending those as it is a shorter distance.”
He said there would be a lot of new people doing the 5km for the first time, just to experience what the Spartan Race is all about.
“We have done really well on the international participation- 24 countries and obviously having the APAC Championship and in terms of local participation, we are seeing very strong interest from locals.
“We have the kids out here, so a full-day for the kids and that was really nice and we have to build on that for next year.”
Camilleri also acknowledged all the partners of the 2024 Fiji Spartan Race, saying that without them, it would not have been possible for them to hold the event.
