Fiji football out of 2020 Tokyo Olympics

THE Fiji under 23 football teams’ dream of qualifying to next years 2020 Olympics is over.

This after Fiji were thumped 6-1 by New Zealand in the first semi-final of the OFC Qualifiers in Lautoka this afternoon.

Fiji trailed 4-nil at half-time.

Mohammed Shah scored Fiji’s lone goal in the second spell.

Fiji represented Oceania at the last Olympics in Rio in 2016.

New Zealand will now play the winner of the second semi-final between Vanuatu and Solomon Islands.

The winner of the final qualifies to next year’s 2020 Olympics.
