As the BiC Fiji FACT 2025 approaches, preparations from the Fiji Football Association’s end have been progressing in a timely manner.
This, according to Fiji FA’s general manager operations Anushil Kumar who provided an update on how the progress of work had been in putting together the finishing touches for the 34th instalment of the tournament.
It has been a concerted effort from the sport’s regulatory body to ensure the flow of work in preparing for the Fiji FACT is a seamless one.
“The preparation is going hard and fast behind the scenes, all logistics are in place,” Kumar explained.
“The grounds work has been done by the (Fiji) Sports Council to get the grounds ready come the 30th of May.”
With the Fiji FA and other stakeholders working together to ensure the tournament kicks off and proceeds in its entirety in a harmonious manner, Kumar also highlighted how the eight competing teams will showcase their prowess once all the pieces are in place.
“Absolute thriller of a competition is expected because our Extra Premier League (EPL) has been so intense, just because the eight (teams) have been fighting for this big Fiji FACT spot with Suva qualifying as the host and no team can be underestimated,” he mentioned.
The eight teams in question are Ba, Lautoka, Navua, Rewa in Group A and in Group B are Labasa, Nadi, Nadroga and Suva.
These teams earned their spots in the Fiji FACT after finishing in the top eight of the Extra Premier League in its eighth round of competition.
Out of the ten teams in the EPL and with only eight going through, Nasinu and Tavua slipped to the bottom two and eventually a non-appearance in this year’s Fiji FACT.
The Fiji FACT will kick off at 12.30pm on Friday, May 30, at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
