After signing a memorandum of understanding with the Fiji Football Association, WOWS Kids Fiji received a cheque of $21,955 to aid in their battle against childhood cancer in Fiji.

The funds were raised by FFA where every dollar from tickets sold during the Battle of the Giants and Inter-District Championship earlier this year was collected in donations for the foundation.

Fiji Football chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the event was part of their agreement with WOWS Kids, where the association will be donating all funds collected during any football tournament towards the foundation.

“We are happy to be in this fight with WOWS Kids, and we will continue to be in it together with them,” he said.

According to Yusuf, FFA started its donations to WOWS Kids after their president, Rajesh Patel, attended one of the events back in 2020.

“Ever since then, we have been trying our best to help in whatever way we can.”

Meanwhile, WOWS Kids team leader Mere Williams thanked the association for its continuous support in the past two years.

“We are extremely grateful to you, all the donations who have been making towards the foundation has helped save many children’s lives,” she said.

“This donation will help ease the burden of parents whose children are diagnosed with cancer who often stress on payments of their children’s medication.”
