Fiji FA elects news VP’s with Aiyaz Musa winning West seat

The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) elected a new leadership team during its Congress at the Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa, Suva.

Aiyaz Musa secured the vice-president West seat with 32 of 49 votes, defeating Jitendra Kumar (10 votes) and Mun Sami Chetty (7 votes), while two other candidates withdrew.

Musa’s official start is pending a decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) due to an ongoing case.

In the vice-president South race, former Suva FA president Ritesh Pratap won with 26 votes, overcoming incumbent Jitendra Reddy (20 votes) and Peter Cecil Singh (3 votes).

Mere Veikata unseated Susan Wise to win the vice-president women’s seat, while Rayaz Khan of Labasa FA was elected unopposed as vice-president North.

The elections were part of the Fiji FA Congress, where members from across the country voted for the new vice-presidents.

Fiji FA Vice Presidential election results:

  • Vice President West

o             Winner: Aiyaz Musa (32 votes)

o             Other candidates: (Jitendra Kumar (10 votes) Mun Sami Chetty (7 votes)

o             Two candidates, Mohin Rafiq and Shalendra Prasad, withdrew.

Mr Musa’s official start in the post is delayed pending Court of Arbitration on Sports decision.

  • Vice President South

o             Winner: Ritesh Pratap (26 votes)

o             Other candidates – (Jitendra Reddy (20 votes) Peter Cecil Singh (3 votes)

  • Vice President Women’s

o             Winner: Mere Veikata (defeated incumbent Susan Wise)

  • Vice President North

o             Winner: Rayaz Khan (elected unopposed by acclamation)
