Fiji is providing land for the Vanuatu and Solomon Islands governments to build their diplomatic chanceries.

The Prime Ministers of both the countries attended a soft launch yesterday.

“This event marks an important step in strengthening regional diplomatic ties,” said the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources.

“The land allocation for the Vanuatu High Commission is part of a reciprocal arrangement between Fiji and Vanuatu, where both countries have offered land for each other’s diplomatic missions.”

“While the arrangement with Solomon Islands is not reciprocal, Fiji remains committed to supporting our Pacific neighbours in enhancing diplomatic presence and cooperation.”

The ministry said this milestone highlights Fiji’s dedication to fostering Pacific solidarity and collaboration, particularly within the framework of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG).
