FICAC seeks veteran legal consultant as part of institutional reforms

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) is looking for a legal consultant who will provide high-level legal review, strategic litigation advice, and support to FICAC.

The person, who has to have 25 years of legal work in Fiji, will also be responsible in the processing and management of investigation files, including assessments of evidence, prospects of conviction, and recommendations for further action or case closure.

“The Consultant will report directly to the Acting Commissioner of FICAC. All work will remain the property of the Commission and be subject to its internal clearance processes,” states FICAC in a public advertisement.

The duration of the consultancy will be one month with prospects of an additional two months.

“The Consultant shall sign a Non-disclosure Agreement and declare any actual or potential conflict of interest.”

The appointment of the legal consultant is part of reforms newly appointed acting FICAC Commissioner, Lavi Rokoika has implemented since taking office recently.
