Semi-retired career civil servant Anare Jale has been appointed to the Fijian Holdings Ltd (FHL) board of directors effective February 20, the company announced in a statement yesterday.

Mr Jale, a former member of parliament for the Opposition in the last government where he was shadow minister of foreign affairs, represents the i-Taukei Affairs Board, FHL’s major shareholder.

Having served 36 years in Fiji’s public service, Mr Jale held various senior positions including chief executive officer Public Service, Secretary for Public Service and Permanent Secretary for Labour.

“We are delighted to welcome Anare Jale to the FHL Group,” said FHL board chairman Sakiusa Raivoce.

“His appointment further strengthens and deepens the collective expertise of the board. We look forward to working closely with him to advance FHL’s vision and deliver value to our shareholders.”
