Update: 12:46PM THE Fiji Football Association had its 78th Ordinary Congress at their headquarters in Vatuwaqa this morning.
The progress and moving forward of football in the country were some points discussed.
The congress passed the motion for the term of office of future Fiji Football Association presidents for a maximum of 12 years.
However, the candidate would be contesting for the position every four years.
The motion tabled by Labasa Football Association to reduce the number of clubs in all Vanua Levu districts was withdrawn.
The 2016 Battle of the Giants champion, Lautoka’s motion to allow all players – whose transfer were approved in the September 2016 window – to play in the left over tournaments and national league was defeated by the Congress.
The 2016 Courts Inter-District Championship kicks off at 1pm today at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
