Fesau bats for table tennis feat

TOAKE Fesau, 10, aims to improve on his skills and learn as much from the 2017 ITTF World Cadet Challenge.

The student of Tacirua Primary School is the youngest player in the Fiji-Pacific team.

Fesau who hails from Rabi is keen to test his skills and evaluate on his performance.

“I started playing table tennis when I was in year three, I was introduced to that sport and what hit me because it needs all your attention,” he said.

“One of the best things about the sport is that you get to travel overseas.

“For the time being I need to work on getting the right basics and learn as much from my coaches and players.”

He added that playing in his first international competition will boost his morale to participate in more competitions.

“This is a good foundation for me to grasp everything in, focus on the target and that is to qualify for the Olympic Games.

‘I know I am too young but nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself.

“I only wish that both my parents are here to support me but due to work commitment they couldn’t make it because they live right in Ba but I am thankful to my aunt who has been supporting me since I started playing this sport.”
